TippaMe is a South African digital gratuity platform that enables customers to provide secure cashless gratuities to verified hospitality and service professionals through QR codes and NFC-enabled technology. TippaMe is operated by Tippame (PTY) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa.
TippaMe provides digital gratuity processing infrastructure for verified service professionals operating within legitimate hospitality, tourism, and service industry environments. TippaMe does not operate as a bank, remittance provider, cryptocurrency platform, or peer-to-peer money transfer service.
By accessing or using the TippaMe platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
By registering as a Service Professional, scanning a QR code, or making a payment through TippaMe, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.
The TippaMe platform may only be used for gratuities associated with legitimate in-person service interactions within recognised hospitality, tourism, and service industry environments. TippaMe is not a general-purpose payment platform and may not be used for donations, social gifting, creator monetisation, influencer payments, or any payment unrelated to a verified in-person service experience.
Verified Service Professionals may register for a TippaMe account to receive digital gratuities. By registering:
TippaMe provides a digital gratuity processing platform for verified service professionals. The following applies to all transactions:
When a customer completes a gratuity payment, the following deductions are made before the Service Professional receives their scheduled settlement disbursement:
The net amount received by the Service Professional equals the gratuity amount less all applicable fees. Service Professionals can view a full breakdown of their earnings, fees, and net settlement amount within the TippaMe App before confirming any settlement request.
Current fee rates are displayed within the TippaMe platform and may be updated from time to time. TippaMe will notify registered Service Professionals of any fee changes via email or in-app notification prior to changes taking effect.
TippaMe accepts gratuity payments via credit card, debit card, and EFT (electronic funds transfer) through our accredited payment processing provider. Available payment methods may vary and are subject to change.

TippaMe reserves the right to immediately suspend accounts associated with prohibited conduct and to report such activity to relevant authorities and financial institutions where required.

All content, trademarks, logos, and technology on the TippaMe platform are the property of Tippame (PTY) Ltd or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.
Your use of TippaMe is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using TippaMe, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
When you submit a gratuity payment or request a settlement disbursement, TippaMe may capture your device's approximate location at the time of that transaction. This data is used solely for fraud prevention and security monitoring — to detect anomalous payment patterns and protect the integrity of transactions and settlement disbursements.
Location data is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never sold or shared with any third party except where required by law or fraud investigation. Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Location access is entirely optional. If your device does not grant location permission, or if location cannot be determined, the platform will continue to function normally. No features are restricted or degraded based on whether location data is available.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TippaMe and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, or business interruption.
TippaMe's total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by or to you through the platform in the three months preceding the claim.
TippaMe is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We reserve the right to suspend, modify, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
TippaMe reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered Service Professionals of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
